Patagonia’s MLC
Today marks the start of Patagonia’s twice yearly sale (The other typically falls around Valentine’s Day. hint, hint). I am so excited to see their MLC bag on sale for $87.50. The MLC — that’s Maximum Legal Carry-on to you and me, Russ — is the only bag you’ll need for anything from a weekend getaway to a week of light travel.
I love my MLC so much that I’ve given it as a wedding present. The water-resistant design is superb. It comes complete with a shoulder strap and hidden backpack straps for heavier loads. It unzips 3/4 to allow for a flat-stuffing, high-stacking, mastery of packing. This is coming from someone who prides himself on his packability, so to speak.
I’ve seen clothing designers and outdoorsmen alike carry this thing. It takes a beating, and it comes with an Ironclad Guarantee that’s pretty hard to beat, too.

I’ve owned one of these for years and love it.

Had mine for a while. Perfect. For a weekend away to a week in Amsterdam, it was all I needed. And super comfortable.

This bag is perfect. The shoulder straps are really comfortable and there’s more little compartments than I know what to do with. I guess my packability factor is not quite there yet.
