The American List & Darn Tough Socks
The other day, while working on a story, as I clicked my bookmark for The American List, I realized I use it nearly every day. “A list of stylish and cool brands that make their goods in America,” if you’re unfamiliar with The American List, just one of many terrific resources created by Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean, take some time. Check it out. Like a good movie, I return to it time and again finding something new, something worth remembering. Most recently? Darn Tough Socks.
Once I can afford to replace a pair of my hole-ridden Smartwool socks, you can bet I’ll be hitting the slopes this year in a pair of well-made, high density knit ski socks made in “the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48,” or… Vermont.
Visit The American List. Discover America for yourself.

hmm. i dont think much about the quality of socks (probably should). i tend to look at the style and pattern of the sock, and these are great for that. their quality seems to be impeccable as well. thanks for the referral. will definitely check em out!

I’m a fan of Fox River Mills socks, great merino wool and very affordable at my local surplus store.

I’ve put close to ten thousand miles into the pair I wear for cycling. Tougher than a bag of hammers and comfortable in everything from cold rain to sweltering heat. I bought these socks for the lifetime warranty, but I’ll probably be buried in them.
