Mr. Brandon Capps in GQ

brandonThe other night, wasting away in a booth at the Tick Tock Diner, languid fingers struggled to turn the pages of the latest issue of GQ. Suddenly, I found myself sprung very nearly out of the booth and to attention. A single, simple photo — capturing, what was actually, a rather morose moment for the usually cheerful chap — had my jaw on the table. Mr. Brandon Capps — who’s received the occasional play here on all plaidout — he of Drinkin’ and Dronin’ fame, he, another soulful drone in the sweet as honey, southern hive emporium of one Mr. Billy Reid, stars on page 58.

Scott Schuman, also known as The Sartorialist, arguably the most famous fashion blogger, has been a GQ columnist for the past several years, and in this month’s issue, he profiles the incredible turnaround experienced by the area of New York known as The Bowery. To have been photographed by The Sartorialist, and then featured in GQ and on his blog is considered by some to be, in a way, a success, so congratulations, Mr. Capps. It could not have happened to a nicer guy.

Stop into Billy Reid on Bond Street and get your copy autographed. Speaking of autographs, it’s my understanding that with his book tour, Mr. Schuman caused quite the stir among the Twitterati. Could we see Mr. Capps in Volume Two? Only time will tell.
