Basil Hayden's x Fort Lonesome x Winter Session Shop Apron
During Basil Hayden's Art of Craft Tour, I collaborated with three friends to design unique shop aprons that honor the creative spirits in our lives. Roy Katz and Tanya Fleisher from Winter Session crafted bespoke aprons for the tour's mixologists, while Kathie Sever of Fort Lonesome adorned the aprons with her distinctive, hand-cranked chainstitch artistry.
These aprons serve as the epitome of functionality, meticulously engineered for both the artisan craftsperson and the seasoned service industry professional. The innovative crossback design skillfully alleviates neck strain, making it comfortable for extended wear. Reinforced with antique brass grommets and double-track seam stitching, the apron promises a garment that is built to last a lifetime.
The material selection underscores the apron's exceptional quality and aesthetic appeal:
- Honey Brown Cone Mills Selvedge Canvas, a testament to robust elegance.
- Vintage, USA-made Natural Herringbone Twill (HBT) Tape, adding a touch of timeless charm.
- Antique Brass Grommets, for a blend of function and flair.
- A strategically placed house-shaped pocket is designed for essential tools, while a full-width waist pocket accommodates everything else you might need.
These aprons are not just protective wear but a statement of craftsmanship and enduring style.
